Yankees sign OF Shane Robinson, C Kellin Deglan to minor-league deals

The New York Yankees have re-signed catcher Kellin Deglan to a minor-league contract and also added outfielder Shane Robinson on a Minors deal, according to the latest batch of minor-league transactions reported by Baseball America's Matt Eddy.

The team has not announced the signings, but Robinson has changed his bio on Twitter to reflect that he is an outfielder for the New York Yankees.

Deglan, 25, was originally a first-round pick of the Rangers in 2010, and he spent his first seven seasons with Texas before signing with the Yankees as a minor-league free agent after the 2016 season. He missed all of 2017 because of a shoulder injury, so his last action came in 2016, when he hit .194 with nine home runs in 83 games at Double-A Frisco.

Robinson, 33, has spent the last two years in the Angels organization, hitting .178 in 129 major-league at-bats in that time. For his career, Robinson is a .226 hitter in 436 major-league games over parts of eight seasons with the Cardinals, Twins, and Angels.
