Jets RB Isaiah Crowell, WR Quincy Enunwa ruled out vs. Texans

The New York Jets will be missing leading rusher Isaiah Crowell and leading receiver Quincy Enunwa when they host the Houston Texans on Saturday, the team announced Thursday.

Crowell will sit out with a toe injury, while Enunwa will miss the contest with an ankle injury.

The absence will be the first of Crowell's career after playing in 77 consecutive games. He has 685 yards and six touchdowns this season.

Crowell set a franchise record with 219 rushing yards against the Denver Broncos earlier this season but has topped 50 just once over the past eight games.

Enunwa has a team-best 38 receptions but hasn't recorded a 100-yard game this season. His 449 yards are second to Robby Anderson's 492.

Coach Todd Bowles said Elijah McGuire (158 yards) and rookie Trenton Cannon (80) will get heavy work in the backfield.

"You like what you see, so they get a chance to prove themselves," Bowles told reporters of the pair.
