Liberty re-sign guard Marine Johannes to multi-year contract
"Marine's ability to create highly efficient shots for herself as well as her teammates blends seamlessly with the system our coaching staff plans to implement," said New York Liberty General Manager Jonathan Kolb. "We expect Marine to report to the team at the conclusion of her overseas club obligations and are very excited that she is committed to the Liberty long term."
The Liberty acquired Johanńes last March after beginning her professional career in France. In 2019, the 5-10 rookie appeared in 19 games averaging 7.2 points, 2.4 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 18 minutes per game. Johannés also became the first New York Liberty rookie since Crystal Robinson (1999) to have consecutive 20-point games.
